Sunshine Room

Ages 2-3
 

In the Sunshine Room, our youngest learners begin developing independence, exploring the world around them, and learning from each other, as well as caring teachers, how it feels to be part of a larger social group: the classroom!

Year Highlights

- Preparing and baking our own snack monthly
- Multi-week unit on birds
- Planting & gardening (bulbs, beans, sunflowers)
- Walking trips around Weston
- A visit from the Weston Fire Department


Sunshine Teachers

dawn blinn

Dawn has been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1997. Over the years, she has held positions as a Toddler and Preschool Teacher, Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Director of a School Readiness Preschool program in Connecticut. Since moving to Vermont in 2010, she has been a PD Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition helping Early Childhood Professionals earn their CDA credentials. She has her degree in Early Childhood Education and studied at both Norwalk Community college and Fairfield University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, gardening and cooking.

Irma Casanova

Irma was born in Texas, but lived most of her life in Florida. She moved to Vermont in 2017 with her husband, Steve. She shares a home with her step son and his family in Weston. Irma started at The Little School in 2021. Her favorite things to do are spend time with her grandchildren and be outdoors. She loves to cook for friends and family and her favorite color is orange.
